53 wpm for the first test lmao. I tried the writing random strings of words and that was a miserable experience, then I tried quotes and hated that too. I hate having to copy things and I felt out of my element not typing from my stream of consciousness.
tfw I am getting blown out of the water by a 18 year old secretary from the 50s

With only a few minutes of practice I was able to maintain a 70ish average with 100% accuracy. I used to play TypeRacer then like the skid I was I used a bot demoralize everyone that I played against. Also, zty.pe is a fun shooter/typing game.

I am using a Unicomp Mini Model M(buckling spring) idk if I used a switch that requires less for activation if I'd go faster. Does anyone here use dvorak or colemak? I have never given them a try

oh damn ya that's a good point depending on your keyboard you can't actually touch type without fucking ground pounding keys. dvorak is a scam. I only use xah lee type http://xahlee.info/kbd/typing_rsi.html

I wonder how much typing speed translates to programming speed. We have like copilot and autocomplete and lsp junk. I bet it doesn't even matter now days.

Does typing speed translate into programming speed? Now days we have all this auto completion and ai shit in general. Can you guys program as fast as you type?

Typing speed doesn't matter too much. A lot of the time spent programming is thinking about the problem. That takes far more time than anything else. Typing speed is inconsequential in comparison.
